New sellers have a selling limit: up to 10 items with a total value of up to $500 per month. This means that, during the month, you can list or/and sell up to 10 items for a total of up to $500. This is the standard limit for all new eBay sellers.
If you have more than one seller account, you may also be able to raise your limits by linking to your other, more established seller account. If your accounts can be linked, you'll see that option when you select Request higher selling limits.
We'll review your account every month and adjust the limits automatically based on your sales volume and the feedback you've received from buyers. Remember, your active and sold listings count toward your monthly limit.

If you're new to selling in a particular category, we might limit how much you can sell. This helps you manage your inventory more efficiently and allows you time to understand any rules that may apply in that category.
When you're comfortable fulfilling your orders, and have a good track record with customers and with following our policies, most specific category limits will automatically be removed. However, other limits may apply depending on the categories you list in.
Items should always be listed in the correct category. If you've reached your monthly selling limit for a certain category, you shouldn't list items in the wrong one, as it violates our Search manipulation policy.

This really sucks! I have stuff to sell worth 20 grand or more and lots of it, I have been buying for years on ebay and just never bothered selling anything until now, but being a newbie on the sales side really limits me. So I won't even bother now, I have nothing under a grand to sell right now so I guess it's their loss ! And mine.screw it!
I remember a long time ago I opened a 2nd seller account and complained about the low limit. Ebay just said "we ask that you try out the low limit for 30 days, and if we see that you can handle the extra workload you can call in and request a limit increase."
Honestly I would call eBay and tell them you are trying to list items and you are getting zero selling limits. Ask them about the back up funding and it that is a problem. Ask them to stay on the line with you as you list the first item all the way through.
My selling limits have been higher on the newer accounts than on older ones where I had history with no problems. Their whole limits thing makes zero sense to me. I mean I get the idea, but it just doesn't seem to work very seamlessly. They tell me they will automatically review my account each month, but they don't. I have an old account and 2 newer ones. Each new account had a higher selling limit than the last, even though they older accounts were more established. I get what they are doing but they are not executing it well.
